Recipe Tips

  • At five minutes, check the bacon. I enjoy flipping mine, but it’s not required. The cooking times vary slightly depending on the air fryer, so adjust as necessary. Total 8-10 minutes I find works the best.
  • Make sure to place turkey bacon in a single layer for even cooking. The size of your air fryer may require you to cut the bacon strips in half before cooking them.
  • After cooking, I like to spread the slices out on a plate covered with paper towels to help absorb any remaining grease. Turkey bacon doesn’t appear to have as much grease as pork bacon.

How to Clean Grease from the Air Fryer

The bottom of the air fryer basket can be kept clean in a number of different ways.

  • Place a piece of parchment paper on the bottom of the basket. When you’re done cooking it, just throw it away.
  • I haven’t tried this method but some people like putting a piece of bread on the bottom to soak up any grease.
  • Use dish soap and water to wash. That’s how I usually clean the air fryer basket. I let the grease cool before using a paper towel to clean the bottom. I wash in the sink after that and allow to air dry.
  • Most air fryer baskets can also be put in the dishwasher for super easy clean-up.
