After much thought, I decided to use a flavorful Papua New Guinean coffee for this review. I assumed it would taste fantastic as iced coffee because it has a medium roast profile and plenty of body.

I didn’t do well on my first try. A full scoop of ground coffee was added to the filter after I set the grinder to medium-fine, but the iced coffee that came out was flimsy and watery.

I experimented with a much finer grind, which tasted over-extracted, before using the original grind setting and adding two full scoops to the coffee filter to finally solve the mystery.

Hand cleaning is required for the tumbler. Mr. Coffee advises using vinegar to clean out your machine once per month.

Add vinegar in place of water to achieve this. Let it brew while adding half as much vinegar as water.
