Everyone should adopt the new standard of air frying brats. With this recipe, you can air fry Johnsonville brats, beer brats, cheddar brats, or any other kind of brat you like as long as they are raw brats, otherwise known as uncooked brats.
Turn on the air fryer to 350 degrees to cook brats. Frozen brats should be cooked in the air fryer for 13 to 15 minutes, turning them halfway through, or until an internal temperature of 160 degrees is reached.
For the most flavorful air-fried brats you’ve ever had, top them with good mustard or any of my favorite toppings listed in this post.
Quick Steps to COOK BRATS in An Air Fryer
- The brats should be arranged in the air fryer.
- The sausages should be air-fried at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes, turning them over halfway through.
- Then, let the brats rest for 5 minutes after removing them from the oven. Then, enjoy!
Your brats will be cooked through and ready to eat faster than you can heat up an oven or grill! By the time you heat up your oven for 10-15 minutes and bake the brats for 20-25 minutes, the air fryer bratwurst method takes more than twice as long!
Air Fryer Bratwurst Temperature
At 360 degrees Fahrenheit, preheat the air fryer for five minutes.
They must be arranged in a single layer or they won’t brown. Also, make sure to leave some space between each piece of food so that it can cook evenly.
Air Fry Bratwurst Cook Time
We highly recommend using a digital meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of air-fried brats, which will take between 11 and 15 minutes to cook through and reach at least 160 F. Brats can be cooked up to 190 F because of their high fat content.
The brats don’t necessarily need to be turned over halfway through cooking, but you can if you like.
Before serving, take the brats out of the air fryer and let them rest for three to five minutes. For every bite of meat to be juicy and moist, the juices must be redistributed throughout the meat for at least five minutes. Enjoy!
Adding Peppers and Onions
Cut a half an onion and a bell pepper into slices. They should be combined with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, ½ teaspoon of salt, and ¼ teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper in a medium bowl.
Spread the vegetables around the bratwurst in the air fryer before adding the peppers, onions, and bratwurst. Continue with the remaining steps in the recipe above.
Air Fryer Beer Brats
It’s incredibly easy to make beer brats in an air fryer. One choice is to purchase beer-marinated brats; these days, there are usually many pre-flavored bratwurst available.
To marinate at home:
Pour one can or bottle of beer into a small dish.
The uncooked brats should be added to the beer and marinated for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, remove the bratwurst and continue cooking according to the brats’ air fryer instructions!
For a delicious meal idea, serve brats with sauteed onions and peppers! These are suitable for dinner, lunch, and breakfast.
There you have it—a quick and simple way to enjoy a timeless classic!
